Abilene Used Car Sales has been serving customers since 1991, selling approximately 40–50 vehicles each month. When the dealership began evaluating a new payments platform in 2025, Sales Manager Tyler Simmons said one thing quickly stood out about Blytz: how easy it would be for customers to use.
After researching its options, the decision became what Simmons describes as a “no-brainer.” And that ease of use has translated into a significant change in how the dealership handles payments.
Before moving to Blytz, approximately 55% of Abilene Used Car Sales’ payments required someone in the collections department to process the transaction. That meant collectors were spending a substantial amount of time on the phone with customers who were already ready and willing to pay.
After implementing Blytz, that changed. According to Simmons, “Today, 82% of our customers are paying themselves. and that figure doesn’t include customers enrolled in autodraft.”
For Simmons, the impact is simple: “It was a complete game changer.”
Instead of relying on a collector to complete the transaction, customers can receive a payment link by text, enter their four-digit PIN and make their payment on their own.
The result is less friction for customers and significantly less routine payment processing for the collections team.
“I could not say enough about how it’s changed our collections and our processing, and we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from all of our customers,” adds Simmons.
For Simmons, the customer experience should be one of the first things dealers consider when evaluating a payments platform.
“How easy is it going to be for the customer to process the payments and get through their day-to-day with you?” he asks.
With Blytz, customers can be registered with a four-digit PIN at the time of sale. When payment is due, they receive a text with a link that lets them complete the payment without logging into a portal or calling the dealership.
That simplicity has helped Abilene Used Car Sales turn payment processing from a largely manual interaction into one customers can increasingly handle themselves. For the collections team, that means less time taking payments and more time focused on the customers and accounts that actually need their attention.
Abilene Used Car Sales’ experience shows what can happen when customers don’t need a collector to make it across the finish line. With 82% of customers now paying on their own, the dealership has made the payment experience easier while giving its team time back.
Blytz helps dealers make that shift by connecting customer communication and payment in the same experience, so customers can move from reminder to resolution without unnecessary steps.
